Crested Gecko in the classroom or not.
I have inherited a crested gecko and I am wondering any having him as a class pet.

He will not live in our noisy classroom. There is a classroom that is empty most of the day. There is a class of 3 one period of the day, and it is used for students to work 1 on 1 and in small groups occasionally. I believe it will be a quiet enough space.

I'm thinking only I get to handle the gecko . Some of my students are very young . So he will likely be a look don't touch pet. Out of curiosity though, do you think having 1 students per week getting to handle him would be ok? I know they are really going to want to but I need to determine if that's going to be okay.

since they are nocturnal is daytime handling going to be too stressful for him even if it is just me handling him on occasion? I figure they won't get to see him too much since he will be sleeping all day , so I feel like holding him is the only real opportunity they get to observe him. ( i have only had him 24 hours so maybe he will be more visible, i don't know)

Is it okay if I feed him at 2:15. I know he eats at night but it will be there when he wakes up . I want to feed him at this time because I wanted to be one of the students jobs.

Considering all of this would anyone still advise against having him as a class pet at all?
6. If this is not a good choice is there any other reptile or amphibian pet you would recommend for the classroom? I don't want to get something like a bearded dragon or a snake because they need so much more space. Open to suggestions of things that we still can't touch but maybe daytime active so at least we can see them. Biggest preference would be the ability to handle them .
