bed bug at work?
Hi David
I found out my partners colleague/ good work friend has a confirmed case of bed bugs. Her house is being treated but her landlord is not doing a proper effective treatment, seems like just something minimal.
I already have the bed bug monitor in place in our bed however since finding out about this I have been asking my partner to put her work bag in a vacuum bag upon returning home as well as her work clothes to be washed at 60 at the end of the week.
Is this necessary, or overkill? I have also been worried that even if we “quarantine” the work bag and clothes, that her car is now a possible source of contamination every other time we go in the car. Therefore the clothes we’ve worn in the car have also been treated as possibly contaminated and “quarantined”.
Am i thinking too much into this? Is it necessary to take precautions of this level? This is taking a lot of mental energy. For what it’s worth, i recognise that this possibly unhealthy however my bed general bug anxiety around eg riding the bus, going to the office, going to a cafe does exist but is not at this level. in this case i am so particularly concerned because it is a direct confirmed case which is serious enough for her to tell her colleagues.
If this is completely unjustified, can you suggest how else we can minimise the risk in this situation with a confirmed case in our proximity.
thanks so much
