I haven't played Ascended since it launched, just Evolved. I'm seeing the Dragontopia backlash going on. What the heck's been going on with Ascended?

I stopped playing Ascended after playing through a bit of the island. Just happened naturally as me and my Dad got bored. I know they released some DLC from Evolved and stuff. But I am truly wondering what kind of stuff they've added to Ascended. I saw what they did with Dragontopia and wonder what that's all about. Have they done any other stupid things since I've stopped playing?
