Title: Should I tell my sibling about a situation involving his Facebook photo?
I need some outside perspective because I feel stuck and guilty.
A while ago, I was spending time with this creepy guy for the first time. He was unpleasant and manipulative. At some point, he wanted me to search for my brother’s Facebook profile on his phone. Because he wanted to look at handsome people, apparently. I searched the profile on his phone. Later, I found out that this person had the photo saved on his phone and showed it to another person while talking about me and the situation between us.
My brother had nothing to do with any of this. He was not involved, he is not connected to this person, and there have been no threats, contact, or signs that the photo was posted anywhere. As far as I know, the photo was only saved and shown to someone else.
I found out about this months ago, but I never told my brother. At the time, I was overwhelmed and I honestly didn’t even think about telling him. Now I keep wondering if I should have.
Part of me feels that my brother deserves to know because it involved his image and privacy. Another part of me worries that telling him would only make him stressed about something he cannot really do anything about.
I feel guilty because I feel like I should have protected him better, even though I never intended for his photo to become part of this situation.
What would you do? Would you tell your sibling, or would you leave it alone since there is no current threat or harm that you know of?
