Are expensive FPs really worth it?

By expensive I’m not talking about 100 dollars. I mean like the ones that are 600-1000 dollars. Maybe I’m just broke but I don’t see my self spending $200+ on fountain pens. Especially since I’ve seen people compare these expensive pens to the jinhao pens and they write the same. Are they only this expensive because of the designs/brand? Is there really any difference between the writing experience of a decently priced pen ($70-$100) and a really expensive one?
