Picking up things from the floor with chronic back spasms and unstable knees?
Hey yall! I have a question. I am not diagnosed officially with any form of hypermobility but I do strongly suspect I have it since I frequently sprain multiple joints a year and have some commonly associated conditions (namely, IBS, fibromyalgia, ME/CFS and I’m also autistic). I have run into a bit of an issue when it comes to picking things up off the ground without making my knees unstable/sublux and without making my back spasm. I have recurrent back spasms stemming from a previous injury in which I knelt to the ground to plug in something at work and then stood back up too quickly, unfortunately despite my best efforts it never has healed properly and it has been a year since this initial injury. So I was just curious as to how you pick things up off the floor, plug things in at floor level like a power strip for example, or get things out of floor level cabinets without injuring yourselves? I try to avoid this as much as I can, but sometimes it’s just not possible and I don’t always have another person available to help me.
