My clothing section is so dim. LED strips or hardware store hack?

I run a small boutique. The clothing section is at the back of the store. Always dark. No natural light back there

The merchandise just disappears. Black tops look grey. Navy looks black. Customers squint and move on

I want to install LED strip lights along the shelving. Brighten things up properly. I found an option on SI Retail Looks professional. Good quality.

But it's pricey and a bit more than I was hoping to spend

A friend said I could just buy regular LED tape from the hardware store. Stick it on myself. Save a lot of money

Bit what if the cheap tape falls off? What if the colour temperature looks awful? What if it doesn't last?

I don't want to waste money on something that looks DIY and unprofessional. But I also don't want to overpay for a fancy system if the hardware store stuff works fine.

Has anyone here done store lighting on a budget? Did the cheap option actually work?
