Did a recent update change how Text blocks/Stills interact with Timeline In/Out points? (Massive stretching issue)

Help

I'm not sure if it's just me or if I'm going crazy, but a recent change in Resolve has been incredibly frustrating lol. When editing, I often have random footage outside my main edit window.

Admittedly, it might be a bad habit, but I’ve always relied on keeping In and Out points marked on my main timeline to visually bracket the beginning and end of my actual video. Ever since a recent update, if I drag a Text block, Title, or Still image into the timeline, it instantly stretches to span the entire width of those In/Out points—sometimes creating hour-long text blocks that I have to manually trim back down.

  • Is anyone else experiencing this since updating?
  • Is this a new default behavior, or did a setting get toggled on accidentally?
  • Is there a way to turn this off so dragged assets just use their default standard duration?

Personally, I think it's a cool feature if you want a fit-to-fill edit, but it shouldn't be highjacking the traditional, passive use of timeline In/Out points. Any insight would be awesome!
