US NPS - Until Next Time

Earlier in the year I made the decision to prioritize a few more US park visits before my previous pass expired (purchased prior to the new fee introduction). This turned out to be a fantastic decision, as I had the opportunity to see my toddler experience some incredible landscapes in Texas, New Mexico, and Utah over the past several months.

That being said, in light of the new non-resident fee, I will likely be taking a break from these parks for a few years. While I don't mind a supplemental fee that is reasonable in nature, the additional cost has been a gentle reminder to spend more time exploring my local parks in the Canadian Rockies.

In case this isn't entirely common knowledge, Canadian National Parks do not charge a separate non-resident fee, and admission is currently free for all visitors this summer through the Canada Strong Pass (a temporary measure that could change in future years). While parks like Banff and Jasper are commonly known, there are also some incredible hidden gems like Gros Morne and Fundy National that are well worth a visit.

Happy exploring!
