Can I use the new TELUS Wi-Fi 7 Boosters with my older TELUS Wi-Fi Hub
I'm hoping someone with a similar setup can help.
I currently have TELUS PureFibre Gigabit (1000/1000) with the older cylindrical TELUS Wi-Fi Hub in my garage (where the fibre comes in). I also have two of the older TELUS Wi-Fi 5 dish boosters, both connected via Ethernet backhaul.
Over Ethernet I consistently get around 940–1000 Mbps up/down, so I know the internet connection itself is fine. Over Wi-Fi, even when I'm standing right beside one of the wired boosters, I'm only getting around 400 Mbps down/up (tested on an iPhone 17 Pro Max).
I'm looking at upgrading to the new TELUS Wi-Fi 7 Boosters, but I'm not sure if they'll work with my existing Wi-Fi Hub.
My questions are:
- Can I use the new Wi-Fi 7 Boosters with the older TELUS Wi-Fi Hub?
- Or do I need to upgrade to the Network Access Hub (NAH) first?
- Has anyone gone from the old Wi-Fi 5 dish boosters to the Wi-Fi 7 setup? If so, what kind of speeds are you seeing with Ethernet backhaul?
I'd rather not replace everything if I don't have to, since all of my booster locations are already hardwired with Ethernet. My goal is simply to get closer to gigabit Wi-Fi speeds.
