Changed programs halfway through first year, can't enroll in anything (please help) (urgent)

Hi, so when I originally came to UofT, I wanted to do an english and anthro double major, which I have now obviously decided against. I wanted to swap into human resources and sociology. When I talked to an advisor about it, they assured me it was fine to take soc100 + soc150 during the summer and enroll into the sociology program later, and take the human resources program in my second year/enroll at the end of second year.

The problem now is that ALL of the courses I'm trying to enroll into have priority for people already in the major and/or need me to complete soc100 and soc150 which i am currently doing in summer school. Registar is giving me automated messages and i can't find an actual person to talk to, so they've been really unhelpful. Do i just take random courses that have nothing to do with the programs I want to go into? I really don't want this to affect when i graduate or make me graduate 1-2 years later. What do I do??

I know it's my fault for not doing enough research, but someone please tell me my life isn't over
