Being overworked, or am I just a pansy?

I got a gig doing belly work locally. I used to to haul water in the oil fields and it was a nightmare pulling 120 hrs a week legit, so Im not unfamiliar with how unregulated things are.

The gig I got I'm working 70-80 hours, and I have other responsibilities when I get home and before I go to work. I also like to eat and shower which I'll be honest I don't get to do sometimes because the work load is heavy.

I wasn't complaining, but today the truck had some issues, and I also reported the AC not working (again) I told the supervisor that sometimes I nod off in the highway, no AC in the middle of July which makes the drowsiness worse, add on the stress and whatnot. Im grateful for the gig. I got the day off anyway until the minor issue is fixed but the AC will take a while.

The response I got was that everyone in the company is going through the same, and I understand that they're just another cog in the machine and the supervisor is also being overworked 😂

Just on FB there was a post about a man from my city who crashed and killed someone on a semi because he was drowsy. The commentary said a company should make sure their employees are rested, and it left me thinking: am I being a pansy or do I want fair working rights?
