Can the specialisation in BCA AI can be changed after receiving acceptance letter, without registration applying?

Asking for a friend, he applied for BCA AI and now he wants to change his specialisation to BCA Honours, is it possible without reapplication? I think the specialisation are reconsidered after sem 2 or can it be changed in the registration form too?

BTW I'm joining BTECH CSE
