Husband said writing is for "stinky freaks" only... Do I give up forever because he said to?
I'm so disheartened right now.
My husband (we're not married yet, I'm still waiting for him to propose after he finally asks me to be his girlfriend and leaves his bitch wife) found my laptop open with a novel I've been working on for about 6 years now.
When he realized it was a manuscript he made this scrunched face (the scene I left open was pretty gnarly....) and he and asked "what the hell is this?"
I got SO excited to share it with him, I'd been
wanting to for YEARS but I'm only allowed to talk when he rings a little bell so it can be REALLY hard to let him get to know me more.
I told him it's my novel and he just went silent, and dead pan... I asked what's wrong, and he told me i have to quit writing and delete everything or he can't continue being with me.
I was STUNNED. I asked why he would say something like that, and he said writers are stinky freaks, and he can't be caught dead with a stinky freak or else he won't be able to leave his wife and ask me to be his girlfriend before proposing to me and getting married.
He also claims writing is toxic escapism for the socially inept who won't shower.
I understand his logic 100%.... but it just hurts so much? I thought he loved me more than this, and I thought he wanted to know me...
Should I quit writing forever?
