So I have kinda an odd one.
I'm not entirely sure how to go about the marketing on this one.
Long story short I've spent 15+ years developing a board game after falling in love with the boardgame space alert. I loved the game but it was too hard to get new players into it.
So I made my own version put a zombie theme on it because it fits perfectly. And started making it my own thing. Well 15 years later I found the scope of manufacturing was too much and now after spending a year on it I've turned it into a "videogame".
I put it in quotations because although it looks and feels and acts kind of like a video game it still plays more-so like a boardgame.
I am not sure how to go about marketing this since it's in the in-between worlds of both physical (party style board games, work best in person) and digital (videogames)
I'm not sure if there is enough overlap in the digital to draw players in with standard marketing tactics without vitality from live plays.
And the boardgame market is either all physical or a small amount it seems to play digital but stick to top viral games.
So I don't know if it is just a lack of experience or if the game I've been building just falls in a bad market?
Tldr I've made a boardgame/videogame hybrid and I think I may have backed myself into a marketing corner and Im not sure if I should try to steer the ship one way or the other. Or if I should just hop in the dingy and let it be. Please help?
