I have spent the entire past week grinding raids in hopes of obtaining shiny legendaries, and of course shundos. It gets to 9:00 today and there is one final mewtwo raid that we hurry to get to. We barely make it in time but we quickly take it down with some new people that we met previously in the day (a big deal in a town of only a few thousand). Of course it’s a shiny, and I see its cp is really high and what I believe to be a shundo. My mom passes the phone back to me (she was playing using my old account so we would have enough people) and I get so excited. Unfortunately I started throwing the balls without really thinking and had already used a silver pinap berry. I finally look down to see that I only have two balls left and the mewtwo will NOT stop jumping and attacking. The feeling of despair begins to kick in and I throw the second to last… and nothing… then the last ball… nothing and I slump over seeing my dream dissipate into nothingness as I stare into my phone. I in my ten years of on and off playing have NEVER EVER once failed a shiny and haven’t failed a legendary in probably over 100 raids. I guess I just don’t know what to do now. I went from finding the holy grail to throwing it straight into a volcano. It’s crazy how quickly I went from the person who everyone else gives their phones to to the person who couldn’t catch a guaranteed pokemon. I feel stupidly hurt by what I keep trying to tell myself is “just a game” but I don’t know. Looking for any way to cope and or seeing if anyone else has ever done such a silly thing.

So I made the worst possible mistake…
