Hunt Wheels Defect?

Anyone heard any scuttlebutt about possible manufacturing defects with the Hunt Aero Wide aluminum wheelset, circa 2021? I' ve ridden these wheels for 5 seasons without incident, but twice this season I've found - after HARD breaking (stop sign at the bottom of a descent) - shards of metal in my break pads. Today in the rear, last week (IIRC) on the front. I was alerted each time by a grinding noise on subsequent braking.

After the first I just assumed just bad luck with random debris on the road, but the second occurrence today has got me wondering🤔
