FYI: DO NOT MAKE CHANGES TO ELECTRONIC ECF AFTER SUBMISSION

I just learned this the hard way.

I submitted an electronic ECF on 7/2 with an email address I had used previously for my employer. I learned on 7/4 that the HR email had changed (as part of a system-wide merger we recently underwent), so I updated the email address on my submission. HR reportedly signed it on 7/6, but as of today (7/13), I have not received anything from Student Aid saying it had been signed (as I have in the past), and it still shows as awaiting a signature in my account.

I contacted Student Aid about it, and they tracked down my Docusign, which they said was still showing no signature from my employer. The representative asked if I had made any changes to the form after submission, and when I told her about the email address, she said this was why they had not received anything. She said any time you need to make a change, submit a completely new form rather than updating an existing one—she said any forms that are updated after the fact would not process properly.

Now I have to submit a new ECF for signature.
