What is the objective of each type of challenge

I dont understand the objective of the challenges. They have some icons but what they mean are no were to be found. For example. Distance? Is what i understand from the icon but there is a finish line so i don't know.

The only one i really know what means is the time challenge. I just have to race normally and finish first
