The faction-color theory

After everything we saw until now, there's any theories about what exactly the division by colors represents? The fast answer imo is the pro and against TGC, but it doesn't makes sense, since Marius and Lestat doesn't like this idea. Lestat could be under manipulation, but what about Regina too?

Any thoughts? (I'm losing my mind)
