2 years ago, I got my first ever dog: a long-haired black and brown doxie named Minnie, who was a breeder release. She is truly the sweetest dog and always wants to be close to me. She is the best dog I could have asked for, but she is also an anxious mess. Feeding her can be difficult, as she refuses to eat all the time (she has been to the vet several times, she is fine medically) and don't even get me started on trying to go for a walk with her. She does not like strangers and tends to hide when she feels unsafe. Even though she does not play with other dogs (she does not play at all), I have noticed that she gains a lot more confidence when around my mom's two dachshunds. This makes sense to me since she grew up in a large pack. We therefore decided that it was time to get a second ween!

Meet Frankie (in the picture)! She is also a former "breeder" dog who came from a bad situation (feces all over the house etc.) and we are bringing her home tomorrow. She is a lot barkier than my first (weens I guess!) but otherwise very sweet. The two girls met yesterday and it went as good as I could have hoped, with Minnie being as anxious as she is. They just sniffed each other and sat down. Still, while I am very excited to bring home a sister for her, I also worry.

If you have brought a second dachshund home, could you share your experience and tips with me? Thank you!!

Bringing home my second doxie rescue tomorrow. I would love to hear your stories and tips!
