New to AOS and Nighthaunt in general

So I am reading the war scrolls and abilities of nighthaunt heros and units and I might just not understand his ability correctly but genuinely what is the point of awlrach the drowner his ability is once per game but you can use ethereal translocation more times than he can do his one and his attacks aren't crazy so y is he here? Bc I love his looks I just built his model need to paint it but as much as if like to use him in a lost I see no point
