Hey, this is for anyone out there who thinks it’s too late to start singing, or who wants to chase that dream but can’t afford a vocal coach. If that’s not you, feel free to keep scrolling! this one’s gonna be a bit long, but it comes straight from the heart.
I’ve loved singing since I was a little kid, but I never took it seriously until I was 17 or 18. I had no clue where to even begin no roadmap, no teacher, nothing. So I just started. And yeah, the feedback was rough. “Stop singing,” “it’s not for you”… and honestly? They weren’t wrong at first. My voice was all over the place.
But something in me refused to quit. I told myself that if I could just develop a real, stable vibrato, I’d be happy. That was enough for me. So the summer after I graduated high school, I locked myself in and I sang constantly, every single day, hunting down YouTube exercises and figuring it out as I went.
I made so many mistakes. Pushing way out of my range until it hurt, doubting if any of this was even worth it… there were days I wanted to give up. But I kept showing up. And slowly, something started happening.
First came that first real, stable vibrato. Then better pitch. Then real agility in my voice. And eventually, the confidence to actually sing in front of my family. They were shocked as we don’t have any singers in our family lol.
So if you’re sitting there thinking you’re too old, too untrained, or that your voice just isn’t “good enough” yet… I’m here to tell you: it’s NOT too late.
The first clip is me at the very beginning of that journey. The second one is me now.

Of course I still have more in my journey for whenever I decide to get a vocal coach… but for now I’m enough and you are enough!

PS that first clip audio is from smule so there are some enhancing effects that made my voice a bit more stable than it actually was
