Question about updating the game

Hi! So I've been playing this game on and off every now and then, and I've seen it has been updated a couple of times since.

The thing is I've started a saved not that long ago and I've gotten pretty far, but I want to update the game for the new content, will I lose my saves?

I currently play on the android apk

Thanks!
