seeking advice for protecting geese from raccoon

Hi, friends. A raccoon discovered us and killed my chickens, one at a time. I was doing everything I could to prevent him, he just kept outsmarting me, taking them in the middle of the day because I do have a secure nighttime house for them. Now I need to do whatever it takes to protect our 3 geese. They have a fenced pasture up close to the house, but nothing that would keep raccoons out. They're big girls, American buffs, and there are 3 of them. A few questions for anyone who wants to give me advice:

  1. How safe are they from the raccoon in general? If they're close to the house are they still in any danger? Is their size/proximity to the house enough to keep them safe? Right now I'm either locking them up in the coop or staying outside with them, but that's not sustainable for long.

  2. What is the best way to keep them safe? I'd like to trap the raccoon but that's likely to take a while. We have a dog but he's old now and deaf and not any protection anymore, and we can't afford another dog. I've been looking at solar electric fence but not sure if it's the best thing. Does anyone have any experience with electric fences and geese and raccoons?

Thanks very much in advance
