As an incoming 1st year college student, should I start working now or focus on school first?
Problem/Goal:
I need advice on finding a part-time job or side hustle that I can do while studying in college.
Context:
I need a job so that I can provide for my daily needs because my stepdad won't be able to help me anymore. My mom doesn't have a job, and we're really relying on the money that my stepdad sends.
For me, I'm thinking of becoming a working student since I really need to start saving for my future. Wala rin naman kasing kasiguraduhan kung hanggang kailan ako papag-aralin ng stepdad ko, and he is already old. I'm just thinking about the possibilities because in case mawala siya, ako na lang ang aasahan ng mama ko, and I also have a younger brother that I need to help provide for.I'm thinking of starting with a part-time job since maayos pa naman ang schedule ko as a 1st year college student, and I think I can manage it.
I often see people on TikTok talking about being a VA or an ESL Tutor, and I want to try those jobs. The problem is that I really don't know how and where to start. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Also, if anyone knows of any cafes that are hiring around Amadeo, Olivarez, or Salaban, Cavite, please let me know. Can you also suggest other side hustles or part-time jobs that a college student can do?
Thank you.
Previous Attempts:
I've been looking into jobs like VA and ESL tutoring through TikTok, but I still don't know where to start or how to apply.
