Has anyone else noticed a weird shift in online videos as a whole recently? Like are people's attraction to low quality rot that strong it's actually causing the algorithm to push the stuff or are companies pushing it in the algorithm for some reason?

I multi platform media watch. Very Limited amounts of Facebook reels at this point, a recent resurgence in tiktok watching, full length YouTube videos, and YouTube shorts. I'm not sure if it's a recent shift or if because of my mental health struggles I've been blind to it until recently but there's been just so much low quality garbage being recommended lately. Ai Slop stories out the wazoo on Facebook reels, tiktok is recommending just really generic blah, YouTube full length videos are CONSTANTLY recommending ai generated thumbnails and clickbait titles that make me NOT want to click on the videos, and shorts is feeling stale. I do my best to try to fix things with what limited stamina I have left but it's like I'm spinning my wheels and going nowhere fast.

Are peoples' attention spans so nerfed they can't watch quality content so the garbage keeps getting uploaded more or are companies trying to kill attention spans or something? I will plead guilty no contest to being a lover of doomscrolling brainrotting sessions but the sludge I'm getting is way to low quality for me. Like I'd actually LOVE to watch videos about testing out 1 star places and trying to ride all rides at a Disney park in one day but with with an AI generated slop title and thumbnail I want nothing to do with the videos being recommended.

It's driving me insane. Ive been having algorithm problems on my main YouTube account for 9.5 years but it's like a new level of garbage lately. Facebook reels used to be passable but started flooding me with both reddit type ai slop stories and the "your life as" stuff. Adding insult to injury is it's constantly recommending partial stories from a channel I don't even like to watch full length content of on YouTube anymore. Tiktok? I recently started watching it more again and at first it was giving me some super great results semi consistently but now they are getting further and further apart. YouTube shorts? Recommendations went south and Never really migrated back. It was at first trapped on constant mecca chameleon recommendations, then house inspection channels that mostly steal content from each other, and now its stuck on too many 3d printer and soft body animations videos.
