Calculating the estimated actual price and total usage based on my usage of KIMI K3's Plans
(These details are not 100% accurate. All calculations are 'estimated figures' based on my experience)
Actual calculation conditions
- The moment when Input 3,340,124 / Output 37,113 is shown at the top of VS CODE's Kimi Code accounts for 4.29% of Total Usage.
- The moment of Input 13,420,284 / Output 77,242 accounts for 4.58%.
- What I am calculating: Total usage = 4.58% - 4.29% = 0.29%.
- Model: Kimi K3 Max
For reference, I manually added up numbers like 0.01% and 0.03% from the Percentage in Usage details. However, there is a large discrepancy with the Total Usage in My Quota. Perhaps the 0.01% in the usage details is not actually 0.01%, but rather 0.0001%. Therefore, I calculate this using the 0.29% total usage, which is the difference between the two recorded figures from the moments I am aware of.

The prices for input / output / cached input were reverse-calculated assuming three cache hit rate scenarios: 88% / 90% / 92%.
-
In the table calculating the actual token price compared to the API price, values from the third decimal place onwards were rounded up, not rounded off.

This is a calculation of the token usage during the early stages of completing my small-scale refactoring work, so it may differ in other people's usage environments.
After running the calculations, I feel that it is quite cheap compared to the API costs, and the total token usage for the plan is much higher than expected. Until now, there have been many opinions that KIMI's Plan is garbage, and I too agreed with that sentiment and was saving up my Allegro Plan.
However, my thoughts have completely changed after this recent refactoring. You can see that it provides about 15 to 30 times more usage compared to the official API pricing. This is by no means a small amount. Through this calculation, we can see that Moonshot's Plan is not as bad as people think.
Since the Allegro plan gives x15 kimi code credits, we can also calculate the moderato, allegretto, and vivace plans through this, so I am attaching that table as well.
Because the new plan dedicated to kimi code will be somewhat different, for this part, we must wait for a calculation formula based on the actual experiences of subscribers to the kimi code-specific plan.
