How do bigger Superbuy hauls work?

Just a quick question from a Superbuy newbie. Is there a way to import goods that exceed the USD $140 declared value limit?

Also, is that one of the main reasons people split their hauls into multiple shipments? Just trying to understand how it all works before I place some bigger orders in the future.
