Lay of the Land

Between the surreal feeling of logging into the game, setting up the UI (lol) and the thousands of posts our community spits out daily, my head is swimming.

Here is a simple/not so simple question to try and get some semblance of a solid starting point...

In no particular order (I'm trying to avoid rehashing details about why x, y, z is slighter better b/c yadda, yadda, yadda (that's been argued in a hundred other posts)), what are three tier 1 race/class combos that a new or returning player can play solo or with a duo/trio and not feel like they are wasting their time with?

Maybe there's a better way to say this, but what I'm trying to get at is if your gaming buddy that had little knowledge of the game turned to you and asked what they should play as a solo or small group you'd say "Combo A, B or C to start".
