Asked for a hysterectomy
Did anyone who asked to have their hysterectomy regret having it? I have been struggling with painful crazy cycles for years. I finally been told I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I also decided to have genetic testing done. After my genetic testing I found out I am a higher risk for ovarian cancer then most. (So I'll probably have to have my ovaries out in 15ish years. They want to leave my ovaries in during the hysterectomy because I am in my 30s.) I have been asking for a hysterectomy, I tried medications and I have had laparoscopic surgery to cauterized and "fix". I had my tubes tied years ago and have never had a pregnancy. I finally have a green light and a surgery date. All of a sudden I have this feeling in my gut. Did I ask for the right thing? Should I not be having surgery? Is my recovery going to be 8 weeks? How will this change my life? Will I regret fighting for this choice? I know every story is different but I am looking for anyone willing to share theirs. All stories and advice welcome ❤️
