Gas station spots are not parking spots for the convenience store
The spots in front of a gas station pump is for pumping fuel only. It is not so that you can then go into the convenience store to do whatever it is you need to do. That's what those parking spots in front of the convenience store are for.
There have been several times when ALL of the gas station spots are filled (especially for smaller gas stations where there are only 4 or 6 spots) and no one is actually gassing up. All the cars are parked in there and the drivers are inside the convenience store doing who knows what.
I get it. It's easier to just park once and run inside for a "quick" thing. But no one knows if you'll be inside for five minutes or thirty minutes, eating a gas station hot dog, waiting for a long line for the restrooms, needing to stretch your legs during a long road trip, etc.
It's easier for you but massively inconvenient for everyone else. Don't take up a resource that someone else needs to use for the sake of your convenience.
How would you like it if people parked in front of those tire air pressure machines and just mosied into the convenience store from there? How is it any different than taking up a gas station spot? You don't see people at Costco just parking in the gas station spot and going into the store. They get their gas and move along.
Other gas stations should be the same way.
