bloodwork 6 months post TT, high TSH levels
Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have posted in here, as I am now a little over 6 months post-total thyroidectomy, but I wanted to check in about an issue I'm having that I can't find much about online.
I have noticed increased depression, anxiety, lack of energy, etc. over the past 6-8 weeks. However, I chalked this up to recently switching from lexapro to wellbutrin. Then my PCP decided I should probably get some bloodwork done just in case, so we could rule out medical issues vs. mental health concerns.
I have been on 100mcg of levo since surgery (January 9th) and got my thyroid bloodwork done this week. T3 and T4 levels looked great, but my TSH was at a 43! No not 4.3, 43. My endo reached out to ask about how I've been taking my meds. I follow exactly what she says and take it each morning at least 1 hour before my coffee. I'm going to be switching to 112 mcg in a few days, as my endo seemed confused/concerned about my TSH levels being so high.
I do occasionally smoke cigarettes. I quit leading up to surgery, stayed that way for a while, but have slipped up and do know it impacts levo intake, but does it really impact it this much?
Anyone else encounter this issue post-TT? Any advice or thoughts? TIA
