Will Argentina supporters continue supporting them if Messi retires?

Everytime I see the posters and hype surrounding Messi whenever Fifa comes up, I often wonder: Will they do the same when Messi retires?

After this wc, I saw some news clip reactions claiming they will continue to support Argentina no matter what. But, in light of that, when I asked a friend of mine - Why do u support Arg? - She just replied : Cos of Messi, duh!

She belongs to one among the many who don't watch football outside of Fifa and hence has absolutely no knowledge of any clubs and players.

So, how will the fanbase in Kerala change by the next wc, when (assuming) all the legends have retired?
