DTU MBA or Partial Drop?
I'm lost, and want suggestions from you all. Should i join MBA at DTU or take a partial drop for CAT '26 while being at DTU?
Profile: 8/6/8 (non-eng '25 passout, 0 workex, 2 Years Gap)
I prepared for CAT 25 full heartedly, but gave up the prep in the mid way and started for looking job and got one at start-up so left the CAT and just gave as i had already filled the form - genuinely i fully prepared for 3 months and then 3 months not well prepared, as was distracted with job and then started working and scored around 80%ile, (felt that if had continued prep could have scored 95%ile easily).
Then i worked 4 months at the start-up, things didn't go well and I had to leave that and since then i tried for some other opportunities but couldn't find a good desirable opportunity. So basically, i couldn't even get a proper work ex and somehow i got to know about DTU and was able to convert (this is the only option, i had).
DSM, DTU MBA: Fees - 5 Lakh, Avg 7-8 LPA (30-50% of the batch only get placed - based on seniors, recently haven't heard good about placement on LinkedIn. And majorly only sales and marketing opportunities come, and finance but not core, but good RoI.
So now i am confused, if i should:
-
Go all in and give my best at DTU and work on myself and get a good placement. Though i wanted to get into Strategy, Consulting, PM, but no such opportunities come at DTU for MBA, I'll have to look for off campus opportunities, but will i be able to get a good one considering my not very good acad profile.
-
Should i take admission at DTU, and side by side fully prepare for CAT 26. (will i be able to manage considering the workload at MBA college, and even if i get good CAT percentile, I'll be having 2 Years of gap, with bad acads and 0 Workex.
Any inputs, suggestions, personal experiences would be really appreciated.
