what do i have to do to get into orange oasis

I used to play this game a lot a while ago and i remember being able to go to orange oasis directly after getting the train pass from captain spaceboy but when i went to the train station to go, sweetheart was in the way. Is there something i can do to make her pass or do i really have to wait until the next day to do orange oasis? I'm confused because i feel like i remember being able to go on the same day you get the pass.
