Sunbathing went incredibly wrong and taboo

My fiance and I just arrived on our vacation in Italy.
We are staying at a rented house that has its own big bool area overlooking the Adriatic sea. Its a truly dreamy location. The house is huge and secluded in a way that made us feel so free and liberated. Without think much we stripped down naked and went out to use the pool and later laid down to sunbathe. All of the sudden I'm hearing conversations from above us from the balcony. As I open my eyes there is a family of four standing on the balcony of one of the rooms looking down at us. I immediately wake my fiance up who was sleeping on her back completely unaware.
She never freaked out more. Turns out we were meant to share this house with this family because of a misunderstanding over booking terms. Not the kind of start that we envisioned to this vacation. We gave them an eyeful for sure
