Motivation is tanking...

Probably heard this story a thousand times, but to see it happen to me hits different.

Someone I trained, got promoted over me. Is now attending the meetings I always wanted to attend with my manager. Technical brainstorming etc.

After I told my manager that I either work directly under her or gtfo of the company, she chose the former. The promoted fella is now leaving the company.

But... my motivation is tanking. They'll probably hire a fresh graduate again, have me train him, and promote him over me all over again.

What are my possible courses of action? I'm already sending resume and going to interviews, but I get rejected because my current salary is too high for their system.
