I’m new to this

I saw David live a couple years ago and liked his music so I’m super shocked from all this, I’m only just starting to read more into the case but does anyone know if he has actually denied doing all this or has confessed to doing it? Like I was listening to a video about him and his lawyer and she’s like fully siding with him so also is she helping him get a better sentence since he’s guilty or is she trying to show he’s not guilty?
Another, do we know WHY he did this?
