Lufthansa buy on board payment confusion.

On their app they say "Payment on board. Accepted payment methods only credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Cash payment is not possible."

On their website they say "You will pay during the in-flight service on board. Payment is contactless only via Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Maestro, and Apple as well as Google Pay. Cash payments are not accepted."

I'm surprised there is no mention of debit cards on the app.

Does anyone know if you can pay for food on board with a (Visa) debit card?

Edit: they accepted Visa debit in board without batting an eyelid. They also made me hand over the card without telling me the final price but that's a different matter.
