Zimbabwean Kindness
I am sorry to say this, but Zimbabwean kindness is very performative. I have seen many online praises directed at the kindness and friendliness of Zimbabweans, mostly by tourists.
But the truth is that this kindness is reserved for the cameras or for people deemed to be of higher social status. When it comes to social peers, there is no tolerance.
From the police to the CID and even bus conductors, there is a mentality of bullying and intolerance towards fellow countrymen. But when people are abroad, they all of a sudden want to act all meek and humble, or when one sees a mbinga, the attitude will change.
