Cali to Indi - Need advice

First time in this sub but here goes. My friend is planning on driving from LA to Indianapolis in his 2003 Nissan in mid August. He had asked my gf to see if she would go along with him because he couldn’t do the trip alone. Here’s my question: is it even safe to do the trip? They need to do it in 3 days which is roughly 10 hours a day and from what I know he hasn’t previously drown anywhere near this distance. On top of this his non-driving leg is severely disabled. Any advice would be greatly appreciated since my general assumption is that it’s quite a bad idea.
