Need Advice 4 Managing The Extreme Executive Dysfunction/Chronic Illness Low Energy Combo
hello!!!!!!!!!hi!! hello. hehh
i am lv2 audhd and i have most often a really difficult time with day-to-day functions & body signals. i really really struggle with getting tasks i need to do started, and if i do, it's strenuous to finish as i almost always get distracted by something else (e.g., phone primarily, the easiest dopamine hit....). i try to practice journaling & writing down whats in my head distracting me so i dont have to worry about it later, but i can go on tangents for over an hour, though i havent been as consistent w/ it as of the past week.. try to stay hydrated & electrolytes and take vitamins and eat where i can, but even getting up to get quick/easy food or making meals is SO difficult for me & extremely draining to stand cooking. which really sucks because i love eating food. ive noticed gum helps me focus (chewing as a whole, im a gnawer) so i need to ask my mom to get some soon
i have been trying out an app called me+ for daily tasks 4 a month or so, like drinking water, and slowly i've gotten a little better with getting up out of bed and even brushing/flossing teeth TWICE day-2-day (solely because of a teeth stain? that im scared is a cavity). however, i'm still having daily battles with my extreme executive dysfunction and i can't seem to get anything else started or complete. also, because i am chronically ill (eds, pots, fibromyalgia) i get really fucking exhausted when im doing anything, and when i sit down to rest for a while i typically end up never getting back to work, and nothing seems to help substantially bring my energy back up. i have a severely low sensory-tolerance threshold but i'm much better with managing stress & releasing guilt/shame nowadays due to personal growth journey.
my problem still is though, how can i be able to get the things i want to do done/started without constantly having my energy slump quick and fast? i used to force myself as a kid to finish stuff, but that led me to being burnt out and even more hypersensitive for almost a decade. i am still recovering from this, so giving myself grace always, but i want to DO things.
TLDR; i need advice on how to be able to start & finish the tasks/things i want to do/need to do WITHOUT energy crashing for the rest of the day in under an hour every single time.....please provide this studential soul with your great wisdom, redditors of audhd!!!
