AITA (possibly selling jewelry)

My mom passed away two years ago. We didn’t have the best relationship. I have a couple of pieces of her jewelry. I don’t even know how much it’s worth but I could use the money if it is worth something. AITA if I try to sell this jewelry? Would this make me a terrible person?
