First time Question

Hey all, I’ve never played dnd before but I’ve got some friends and a starter set (Lost mine of Phandelver) in which I’ve been appointed the DM. I’m just prepping stuff and see there is player maps for each location which look cool and id like to print and use…

Only I’m not sure when these would come out? If i have a map of a cave do i give it out at the entrance or will that give too much away? Seems useless to hand it out once its all been discovered though.
