Thoughts on PathofKy's BF/BB spellslinger vs ShakCentral's Wintertide Brand for ssf?

Pretty much title. Was originally thinking of doing ShakCentral's Cold Wintertide Brand as I've never done cold dot and it looks better than I've seen it in the time I've been playing. Both cold dot and BF/BB were two builds I'd always had curiosity in but were nerfed just before my time so I never go to try them.

Can someone who has experience with either/both give me some feedback on the feel of the two and how these two builds might work on SSF? I realize PathofKy's build uses a unique ring, but it's common enough that I'm not terribly worried about getting one eventually.
