Low FPS and frequent freezing more than usual while playing games after NVIDIA crash
Mods, this is just a new throwaway account I made.
Yesterday I was playing a roblox game (called cyber arena if it helps). While I was taking a break during intermission with nothing going on in the game, I started deleting some old medal clips via file explorer, but as I did this my monitor suddenly white screened for about a minute. Afterwards, the game automatically closed and I received a notification from the NVIDIA app about a crash report. Ever since this crash, my performance has SIGNIFICANTLY dropped on everything and the games I am usually able to run smoothly, which are mostly on roblox are dropping to 10 - 15 fps along with unplayable amounts of constant freezing whenever any visual effects are near me. This is 1/3 - 1/4 of what I'd usually get with lots of visual clutter. This never happened to me before and the clip wasn't particularly large either. I need help narrowing down the issue as I'm not an expert.
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB)
RAM 8.00 GB
I believe the ram is ddr4 because the speed shown in task manager is 2666 MHz
SSD ADATA SU720
Storage 466 GB (I will be upgrading this)
The most intensive game I play often is Warframe and my only issue has been the occasional NVIDIA stutter. I've tried freeing up storage, clearing my NVIDIA shader cache, checking for driver updates, and rebooting with no luck. What I'm concerned about is the sudden overall performance drop. Fortunately, I was planning on upgrading my PC specs soon. Any help please?
