What is actually driving sauna's longevity benefits at the cellular level, and does it require longer sessions than most people are doing?
Most of the population-level evidence on sauna and longevity focuses on cardiovascular outcomes over years of use. But the cellular mechanism behind those outcomes, specifically heat shock protein activation, seems to have a threshold that typical session lengths may not consistently reach. Is anyone here tracking this more closely?
