Posted on behalf of Intrepid Metals Corp. - Weeks before the biggest drill program in its history, Intrepid Metals (INTR, IMTCF) made a technical hire worth a closer look.

Per the Jun 30, 2026 NR, Ken Balleweg, P.Geo. was appointed Senior Geologist, formalizing a role he has effectively held since 2022 as a consultant, contributing to mapping, structural interpretation, target generation, and drill planning across the company's Arizona projects.



The Resume

* 40+ years of international mineral exploration and mining experience, specializing in epithermal, CRD, and porphyry systems which happen to be exactly the deposit types in play at Corral Copper
* A decade as Exploration Manager and VP Exploration at Alamos Gold, managing district-scale programs at the Mulatos Mine in Sonora, Mexico, where high-grade discoveries replaced reserves throughout production
* Earlier at Placer Dome, a key role in the geological work that contributed to the Gold Rush discovery in Nevada, one of North America's most significant gold finds
* B.Sc. in Geological Engineering and M.Sc. in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines



Why the Timing Matters  
Corral, in Cochise County, Arizona, is a dual-target system: high-grade CRD copper-silver-gold-zinc near surface and porphyry copper-gold potential at depth. A roughly 65 line-km IP survey is slated for early August to refine those porphyry targets, and the planned September drill program dedicates approximately 5,000m of the \~10,000m campaign to their first-ever drill test, with the remainder expanding known CRD mineralization (See Jul 9, 2026 NR).

In other words, the targets Balleweg spent four years helping generate are about to meet the drill bit, and the specialist who knows these rocks best is now in-house for the readout. That continuity from targeting through drilling positions the technical side well for the busiest stretch in the company's history.
