Ex let me know he has a new partner and then also saying our daughter is going to meet her at the same time
My ex had been making comments about me “getting with new partners.” I told him I’m not focused on dating right now and would like those comments to stop. Still, curiosity got the better of me, so I asked today if he has a new partner. He said yes, then mentioned that she wants to meet our daughter. When I asked if the idea came from him, he explained she had expressed interest, but he told her he wanted to talk to me first. When I asked how long they’ve been together—this being the first I’d heard of her—he said about two to three months. I told him I don’t think their relationship has been long enough to involve our child.
This was my first serious relationship and she’s my only child, so I’m trying to navigate a recent breakup, co-parenting, and now his new partner. I’m not sure if I’m handling it the right way or what the best approach should be.
Ultimately, I am just a bit uncomfortable. I just feel really uneasy.
EDIT: thank you guys for the replies so far
We have come to an agreement that my I meet her as in a sit down lunch/dinner to discuss things and just be cordial of course and I agree we don’t have to be friends but at least set some sort of relationship to each other.
